Description of Position: THIS MAINTENANCE SERVICE TECHNICIAN position will support the required management of community facilities and apartment maintenance to maintain curb appeal and quality of property. Duties include working in partnership with the housing co-op and CSI management team to oversee a 126-unit senior apartment community in the daily and preventative maintenance practices.

Job Duties

  • Assist in assessment, contracting and overseeing of community repairs.
  • Conduct property and apartment (inspections and reporting) with staff and volunteer members.
  • Assist in scheduling of turning of apartment.
  • Diagnose and solve maintenance issues in areas of electrical, plumbing and appliances.
  • Provide technical and project direction to contracted vendors.
  • Maintain major service and maintenance records.
  • Address ADA and environmental needs.
  • Work with the management staff and volunteer members in the day-to-day maintenance needs of the community.

Specific Requirements

  • Experience with plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Ability to schedule and oversee multiple projects.
  • Basic understanding of California building code requirements helpful.
  • Understanding of ADA and environmental requirements.
  • Some systems knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire and Life Safety systems.
  • Ability to read, write and understand communication in English.
  • Must have ability to work with volunteer members, vendors, management staff.

General Requirements

  • Property or equivalent maintenance experience.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, organize and prioritize responsibilities
  • Attention to detail, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills helpful.
  • Must be able to lift/push 50 lbs.

Compensation: $16.50-$17.27 Hourly
