Position Summary
The Children’s Minister will provide leadership, vision, and oversight for a large and growing children’s ministry (birth through 5th grade) in a young and dynamic church. This individual will shepherd children and families, equip volunteers and staff, and implement systems that support discipleship, outreach, and growth. The role requires a passion for the Gospel, strong organizational leadership, and a heart for children’s spiritual formation.

Position Summary
The Children’s Minister will provide leadership, vision, and oversight for a large and growing children’s ministry (birth through 5th grade) in a young and dynamic church. This individual will shepherd children and families, equip volunteers and staff, and implement systems that support discipleship, outreach, and growth. The role requires a passion for the Gospel, strong organizational leadership, and a heart for children’s spiritual formation.

Key Responsibilities
- Cast and implement a compelling vision for children’s ministry in alignment with the church’s mission.
- Oversee all children’s ministry programs, including Sunday services, midweek programs, and special events.
- Recruit, train, equip, and support a large team of staff and volunteers.
- Develop and maintain systems for safety, check-in, scheduling, curriculum, and communication.
- Partner with parents to support the spiritual development of their children.
- Lead and disciple children through biblically sound, age-appropriate teaching.
- Foster a fun, inclusive, and Christ-centered environment for all children.
- Plan and execute major events such as VBS, family events, and outreach efforts.
- Manage the children’s ministry budget, curriculum resources, and facilities.
- Collaborate with church leadership and integrate children’s ministry into the broader life of the church.

- Team Leadership – Builds, equips, and multiplies a strong volunteer and staff team.
- Organizational Administration – Skilled in managing systems, schedules, and logistics.
- Child Discipleship – Passionate about children’s spiritual formation with strong teaching ability.
- Parent Partnership – Communicates clearly and supports parents as primary disciple-makers.
- Cultural Awareness – Creates a welcoming ministry for families from diverse backgrounds.
- Event Coordination – Plans and executes impactful programs and outreach events.
- Communication – Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Adaptability – Thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment and embraces innovation.
- A growing and mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Bachelor’s degree in ministry, education, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3–5+ years of leadership in children’s ministry in a growing church context.
- Proven ability to lead volunteers and staff in a multi-service or large-scale ministry.
- Strong administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Agreement with the church’s statement of faith and mission.
