Technical writers communicate complex information clearly, concisely and accurately, and without relying on jargon. As a technical writer, your role involves tasks such as writing conceptual overviews and procedures, reading and writing example code, or updating help center queries and FAQs. Technical writers play a big part at Google. They are a key link between developers, marketing associates, developer advocates, as well as all the external users and developers, tying together many vital but disparate parts of the Google ecosystem.
You develop complex, in-depth communications for internal and external audiences and manage projects that involve coordinating multiple junior writers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $105,000-$151,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience creating content for technical audiences (e.g., developer documentation, Computer Science course material, or IT administration playbooks).
- Experience writing for the web and with Markdown, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.
- Experience with Databases, SQL, NoSQL, or Cloud products.
- Experience producing technical documentation for a technical audience, for enterprise cloud services.
- Experience in a Unix environment.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, support multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a Changing environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills and strong initiative.

Responsibilities
- Plan, design, write, and publish technical documentation for AlloyDB including critical customer user journeys, concepts, how-to guides, and Application Programming Interface (API) reference documentation for enterprise customers.
- Work with AlloyDB's Product Managers, Engineering Leads, UX researchers, and User Interface partners to identify the critical user journeys and create information architectures that help customers through those journeys.
- Collaborate with the AlloyDB writers to continually refine ways of working to deliver a good customer experience.
- Work with functional partners to manage and prioritize the technical writing workload.
