We are seeking an Associate Project Manager who is organized, self-motivated, and confident working alongside senior stakeholders to lead successful project execution in a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment.

This is a high-impact role ideal for someone ready to build strong relationships and help guide teams through complexity with focus and flexibility.

Contributions

As an Associate Project Manager , you’ll support project delivery across various workstreams, helping to drive progress and alignment with key stakeholders. You’ll manage the details, maintain visibility, and help the team stay grounded in priorities and outcomes — even when the path isn’t always perfectly clear. You’ll bring structure, energy, and a solution-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities Include

  • Facilitate collaboration, efficiency, transparency, clear communication, and alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to create schedules, meeting agendas, and manage risks.
  • Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to understand and document goals, surface issues, and track progress.
  • Navigate ambiguity with confidence — helping to translate vague inputs into clear, actionable plans.
  • Proactively identify and resolve risks, blockers, and gaps in delivery.
  • Support Agile or hybrid project met hodologies, adapting as needed to project or team requirements.
  • Bring a continuous improvement mindset to project delivery — finding ways to work smarter and more effectively.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Ability to hold a position of public trust with the US government.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • Relevant experience in project coordination, operations, or related roles.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with an eye for detail and follow-through.
  • Self-starter who can operate independently while collaborating across functions.
  • Strong communication and interpe rsonal skills with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working through uncertainty and driving clarity.
  • Familiarity with Agile and/or Kanban methodologies.
  • Familiar with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, Trello, Confluence, Miro, or similar).

Preferred

  • Experience working in client-facing or consulting environments.
  • Exposure to human-centered design or cross-functional product teams.

About Steampunk

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,000 to $175,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
