Harmony Design Group, a premier Landscape Architecture firm is seeking a Bookkeeper to join our team!

Compensation and Benefits:
This is a full-time position. This role will be an on-site position in Scotch Plains, NJ. The starting salary for this role is between $50,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on experience, and our employees also enjoy paid holidays and time off because we believe work/life balance is important to your success! We also offer medical benefits.
Qualifications for the Bookkeeper role:
- 3+ years of experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar office support role, ideally in a small business;
- Advanced experience in QuickBooks;
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable;
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office is required, particularly experience with Excel;
- Working knowledge of Google software is required, particularly experience with Google Sheets;
- A customer service mindset and a willingness to assist customers, answer phones and provide excellent customer service;
- A proven ability to work with large sets of data ensuring accuracy;
- A BS degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred, but not required.
How our Bookkeeper will spend their days:
-Performing daily operations of the accounting department including but not limited to:
- Accounts payable/receivable
- Cash receipts
- General ledger
- Check runs
- Fixed asset and debt activity updates
- Assisting with job costing
-Collaborating with our accounting firm to ensure data is entered into QuickBooks accurately for reporting purposes and meeting financial accounting objectives as set by management;
-Providing office administrative support as assigned;
-Filing, record keeping, and data entry;
-Answering incoming calls and taking detailed notes on client contact;
-Answering client questions on payments and following up with clients to secure payment;
-Collaborating with the field team to ensure timely billing to clients;
-Coordinating with vendors and subcontractors to provide timely payment for goods and services;
-Other duties as assigned.
