Apparel Designer

Our client is seeking a seasoned Apparel Designer to contribute to a high-visibility project centered around women's performance training apparel. This role requires a unique combination of creative vision, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of the women's athletic wear market. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to deliver elevated, consumer-first designs that inspire, perform, and stand out.

This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.

Apparel Designer Responsibilities

  • Create innovative design concepts for women’s performance training apparel with a focus on both style and functionality.
  • Develop and communicate clear 2D sketches that translate into viable product solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners in development, materials, and merchandising throughout the design process.
  • Participate in fittings and contribute to material selection to ensure design integrity and performance standards.
  • Apply consumer and market insights to inform design decisions that align with brand and business objectives.
  • Support creative exploration through research, trend analysis, and concept ideation.
  • Present work effectively through visuals and storytelling that highlight design intent and technical considerations.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and advancements in apparel design technologies.

Apparel Designer Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design, Fashion Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience designing athletic, performance, or training apparel, with a strong emphasis on women’s categories.
  • A portfolio that clearly demonstrates expertise in women's training, athletics, or yoga apparel is required.
  • Strong ability to blend creative styling with technical performance elements.
  • Proficient in 2D sketching and capable of clearly visualizing design intent.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with evolving project needs.
  • Experience with digital design tools (e.g., CLO, AI-based rendering platforms like Viscom AI or Midjourney) is a plus.
  • Must submit a portfolio that inspires and reflects both aesthetic sensibility and technical capability.
