Our Manufacturing Engineers provide engineering support to rms teams with particular emphasis on developing capable manufacturing processes, implementing cellular manufacturing techniques and certifying processes to provide superior products to our customers.
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer I will provide support to the Manufacturing organization to facilitate efficient operations within the production area, optimize existing processes, and ensure that production goals are met.
Manufacturing Engineer Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management
- Initiate project management processes and tools for new projects, both customer-awarded and internal.
- Manage project milestones and trackers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Communicate project progress and updates regularly to internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate pre-production, manufacturing, and customer meetings for new projects.
- Conduct DFAM (Design for Additive Manufacturability) meetings as required.
- Lead post-project debriefs and close-outs, evaluating process performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Perform end-item cost estimation.
Manufacturing Engineering
- Develop manufacturing models, prints, routings, and work instructions for components and assemblies.
- Collaborate with manufacturing to develop and optimize processes for product realization.
- Provide support for designed processes, including fixture design, manufacturing research, and part handling.
- Troubleshoot process issues and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Resolve non-conformances and coordinate root cause analysis.
- Train employees on new processes developed by engineering.
- Work with Quality Engineering to develop capable and certified processes.
- Actively engage in Operations Excellence (OE) initiatives and projects to drive operational efficiency and excellence.
Manufacturing Engineer Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field.
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting, demonstrating proficiency in state-of-the-art manufacturing technology and cost reduction strategies.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software (e.g., Solidworks, Creo, Unigraphics).
- Strong ability to lead effective meetings and manage project documentation.
- Proficient in GD&T interpretation, blueprint reading, and technical document comprehension.
- Knowledge of machining processes and material properties.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including ERP systems (e.g., ProfitKey), Office 365, and other business-related software.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in Project Management or Project Engineering roles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse cross-functional teams effectively.
- Familiarity with Additive Manufacturing or 3D Printing technologies.
- Knowledge of ASTM F3001 standards and mechanical testing methods.
- Engineering experience in the medical device industry.
- Proficiency in Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) principles.
- Strong team dynamic skills and commitment to continuous education.
- Familiarity with statistical software applications.

Cretex Companies use cutting oils, solvents, and other chemicals in the manufacturing process. Testing is conducted on a periodic basis to ensure that all chemicals are kept well below the OSHA permissible exposure levels.
