Overview

Our agency represents a leading property management organization seeking a dedicated Assistant Property Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join a team managing a 200-unit affordable housing community (HUD/LIHTC) and ensuring high-quality resident services in Weymouth, MA.

What You'll Do

  • Leasing & Occupancy Management: Manage the complete leasing lifecycle, including waitlist administration, applicant tours, processing applications for multi-program compliance, coordinating unit turnover with maintenance, and executing move-in procedures to maintain optimal occupancy.
  • Compliance & Administration: Ensure strict adherence to HUD/LIHTC program guidelines by accurately processing timely annual recertifications, verifying compliance for all move-ins, managing resident correspondence and notices, maintaining meticulous resident files, and preparing the property for audits and inspections.
  • Resident Relations: Foster positive resident relations through proactive communication, exceptional customer service, and the timely and professional resolution of inquiries and concerns.
  • Financial Operations: Oversee daily rent collection processes, including accurate payment posting and consistent enforcement of collection policies; assist the Property Manager with financial reporting and management tasks as needed.
  • Property Operations & Support: Support overall property operations by assisting the Property Manager with physical asset management, conducting unit inspections, and assuming delegated responsibilities or acting as Property Manager in their absence.

What It Takes

  • Minimum 3 years of property management experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with LIHTC and/or HUD Project-Based Section 8 programs
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Proficiency with property management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, Boston Post)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse population

  • Relevant certifications (CPO, COS, NAHP, SHCM, TCS, C3P, or HCCP)
