Cure SMA seeks a dynamic, driven, and sophisticated professional with a track record of event-based fundraising success to join our team. The right candidate will be responsible for the success and growth of a diverse fundraising portfolio with a goal of $600K+ in revenue generation. This position will lead and execute an event portfolio including Peer-to-Peer, Golf, Gala, and stewardship events to achieve fundraising goals and cultivate meaningful relationships.
The ideal candidate will model and foster behavior that establishes a culture that values the staff/volunteer partnership, is consistent with the values, goals, and objectives of Cure SMA, and creates an atmosphere of respect, innovation, balance, compassion, determination, collaboration, and dedication to the mission.
This position has an assigned portfolio of events across the country and will work to increase that portfolio by engaging the community to host new events each year.

The pay range for this position is $57, 500 to $62,500 annually. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

Requirements
Essential Functions:
- Accountable for meeting the revenue, implementation, and recruitment goals for all fundraising programs assigned in the defined timeframe to generate participant, sponsorship, volunteer, and in-kind growth.
- Under the supervision of senior staff, manage event budgets, timelines, logistics, and best practice implementation for all events within the program. Keep accurate records and report financials monthly to the Chief Development Officer
- In collaboration with fellow teammates, develop and execute new fundraising initiatives to grow additional revenue within and beyond the existing portfolio of events.
- Maximize community participation to achieve revenue goals by retaining existing fundraisers, attracting new ones from all sectors of the community, and provide fundraising guidance and support to participants.
- Build successful relationships with key participants, sponsors, and community leaders as well as existing and new corporate partners.
- Ability to cultivate and manage large numbers of volunteers at different levels of expertise with diplomacy.
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Ensure compliance with Cure SMA policies, including employment, event and cash handling, and financial controls.
- Ability to work with diverse communities and demonstrate inclusion.
- Ensure effective use of Cure SMA resources.
- Participate in required education programs and meetings.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support Cure SMA and the Development Team.
Minimum Experience/Skills/Competencies Required
- Three (3) years of experience in event management, fundraising, and volunteer/committee leadership.
- Experience working for a health or human services nonprofit organization preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills.
- Ability to be an effective, contributing team member, working collaboratively across departments at all levels of the organization.
- Skilled communicator, with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
- Ability to effectively articulate Cure SMA’s mission and impact.
- A strong work ethic with a drive to succeed and a willingness to learn, essential for a demanding environment that continually strives for excellence.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills with high detail orientation and accuracy.
- Proficiency in MS Office required. Experience working in Salesforce CRM, DonorDrive, or other related fundraising platform systems.
- This is a national role. Ability to travel up to 40% to fundraising events is required. Including night and weekend travel.
- This position will be responsible for managing and executing on event budgets, handling organizational funds, and controlling organizational resources.
- The position requires strong analytical, communication, and negotiating skills, good judgment in making decisions independently, and an ability to establish and maintain positive professional working relationships with a wide range of internal and external partners.
