UHP's best-in-class clinical program covers three sub-specialties (urology, gastroenterology, and radiation oncology) and offers numerous ancillary services, including pathology lab, in-office dispensing, and chronic care management. We are led by a highly accomplished management team and provide a full suite of management services to its affiliated practices. UHP is currently affiliated with 182 providers consisting of 119 physicians and 63 advanced practice providers operating out of 54 locations across Southern, Central, and Northern California.
Position Summary
The Vice President, Medical Practice Operations is responsible for leading, directing, and enhancing organizational processes and infrastructure for assigned Urology medical practices. The VP plays an integral role in the planning and execution of Urology medical practice strategy and is accountable for the financial performance and overall effectiveness of the medical practices.

Position Summary
The Vice President, Medical Practice Operations is responsible for leading, directing, and enhancing organizational processes and infrastructure for assigned Urology medical practices. The VP plays an integral role in the planning and execution of Urology medical practice strategy and is accountable for the financial performance and overall effectiveness of the medical practices.
What You Will Be Doing
- Direct responsibility for the operational and financial outcomes for the assigned medical practices.
- Assemble and manage a team of medical practice leaders to drive operational effectiveness and efficiency across the organization.
- Effectively collaborate with physician leaders to achieve and/or exceed annual quality, operations, and financial metrics (including revenues and contribution), with full P&L accountability.
- Strategic leadership by developing and executing strategic and tactical plans, both immediate and long term, to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of Specialty service lines.
- Assessing and proposing new services and/or strategic opportunities on an ongoing basis to expand patient access while growing patient volume and monitor operational and financial performance against budgetary targets, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions to achieve budgetary targets.
- Consistently identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost containment revenues.
- Responsible for facility leases, practice relocations, and renovations.
- Provide direction for the maintenance, modification, and purchase of equipment.
- Ensures optimal staffing at all practice locations. Continually monitors and adjusts staffing levels to be consistent with targeted staffing ratios.
- Assist with obtaining or maintaining accreditations as required from various governmental and or professional organizations.
- Provide oversight for the clinical and administrative functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or similar degree is required.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or similar advanced degree is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in healthcare practice management, medical practice operations, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong understanding of Urology and GI service lines preferred.
- Demonstrated consistent success in managing P&Ls.
- Proven history of successful collaboration within a matrixed organization, including collaboration with physician leaders and physician shareholders.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance, and quality standards.
- Travel as needed, estimated to be up to 50%.
