The UTC Quality Team helps ensure our products meet all customer specifications while also focusing on reducing variation in both processes and products. The Quality Engineer is active with continuous improvement efforts at both UTC and our suppliers to reduce process and product variability and lower costs while maintaining their focus on supporting and serving the end customer.

The Quality Engineer is active with continuous improvement efforts at both UTC and our suppliers to reduce process and product variability and lower costs while maintaining their focus on supporting and serving the end customer.
You Will
What Your Weeks Will Look Like:
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering to drive improvements and resolve floor issues.
- Support New Product Introductions (NPI) representing both Quality Assurance and the Customer
- Generate reports and documentation including AS9102 first articles, MIL-STD-790, MIL-STD-202
- Work with suppliers to ensure compliance with UTC requirements. Audit suppliers and drive improvement activities,
- Ensure customer requirements are met prior to source inspections.
- Design and implement process control plans for UTC and suppliers.
- Use data to measure and reduce variability. Improve data infrastructure.
- Optimize inspection tools and use of tools to evaluate components and products accurately and efficiently.
- Evaluate factory performance and identify improvement efforts.
- Lead Continuous Improvement Teams.
- Participate on internal audit team and drive improvement activities.
- Some travel required.
The Skills You Need to be Successful:
- Proficient knowledge and use of various quality methods and tools.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions.
- Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and Power Point.
- Ability to identify and eliminate root causes using problem solving methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to accomplish goals accurately and efficiently in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to motivate a multi-disciplinary team
- US Person
- Bachelor of Science Degree in related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Quality roles.
- Certification in 6 Sigma or equivalent
- Experience in Military and Aerospace markets desirable but not required.
