This entry level position performs work in a manufacturing facility and will provide support in several areas. The position can work with roll-forming mills, cranes, forklifts, packaging, and banding equipment.

  • $22.50 per hour ***

Third shift starts at 11:00 PM

($2.00 Differential Pay for every hour worked)

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Able to follow and understand written instructions like SOPs, safety instructions and operating procedures.
  • Must be able to use and read a dial bore gauge, and various other precision measurement equipment.
  • Ability to use hand tools including micrometer, calipers and tape measurer.
  • Willing to learn to operate a machine, do setups, and adjust metal forming equipment.
  • Willingness to learn how to changes punches and shear dies.
  • Ensure production areas are completely stocked with required material.
  • Willing to learn how to operate a forklift safely.
  • Desire to assist and train co-workers to perform as a team.
  • Able to unitize, check counts and verifies length.
  • Willingness to operate cutback saw in a safe manner and follow shipping order specifications.
  • Able to learn how to operate an overhead crane.
  • Can work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to understand manufacturing procedures.
  • Able to clean work area, machines, and equipment, using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds.
  • Any other duties required by supervisor.

Safety

  • Works safely and follows all safety rules and operational procedures.
  • Wears and maintains Personal Protective Equipment as required.
  • Notifies management if safety devices are malfunctioning or missing prior to operation
  • Always keeps all assigned work area clean.
  • Understands all safety devices and their operation and will safely operate lifting devices per manufacturing specifications.

Mathematical Skills

  • Basic mathematical skills like addition, subtraction, multiplication and converting fractions into decimals.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing facility - exposed to, dust, heat and cold
  • Activity level is high - continuous movement 
  • Noise exposure - in controlled
  • Fast-paced - constant movement

Education / Experience

  • Prior manufacturing experience a plus.
  • High school/GED or Trade school in machines.

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting- Up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing-8 or more hours per day
  • Walking- Off and on, 4-6 hours per day
  • Body Positions- Squatting, bending, flexing and extending both arms
  • Grasping- Both hands, up to 8 hours per day
  • Sitting- None
  • Pushing Effort- Carts of finished product and tools, up to 50 lbs.
  • Pulling- Tools and finished product, up to 15 lbs.
  • Climbing (ladders/stairs)- Occasionally
