Job Title:
Logistics Coordinator

Location: Port Arthur, TX

Schedule: 4/10s (Monday–Thursday) – Full-time, Onsite

Duration: Initial 12-month contract (**upcoming planned turnarounds and maintenance outages)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Logistics Coordinator to support ongoing Turnarounds (TARs) and Maintenance Outages at one of our client’s refineries in Port Arthur, TX. This is an in-office, field-focused role requiring a hands-on, resourceful individual with strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and a deep understanding of refinery operations and the complexities of shutdown logistics.

You’ll play a vital role in ensuring that work flows smoothly across departments—especially when plans shift or unexpected challenges arise. We’re looking for someone who’s mechanically inclined, proactive in the field, and comfortable using technology to track progress, communicate updates, and coordinate across teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate field logistics during routine maintenance and TARs, working closely with operations, maintenance, and vendor teams
  • Adjust plans in real time as conditions change (e.g., crane availability, equipment delays)
  • Support equipment moves and resource allocation with a solid mechanical understanding at the coordinator level
  • Serve as the point of contact for on-site communication and issue resolution during shutdowns
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) to build schedules, run reports, and track work progress
  • Leverage ERP systems (SAP preferred) to support documentation, resource planning, and logistics tracking
  • Set up and manage Teams meetings and communicate effectively across digital platforms
  • Provide day-to-day support to ensure the site runs efficiently through planned outages and peak shutdown activity

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in refinery or chemical plant operations, TARs, or maintenance coordination
  • Strong understanding of the constraints and demands of TARs and maintenance outages
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to manage and support field-level equipment logistics
  • Proven field coordination skills—especially under pressure
  • Tech-savvy, including comfort with Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and ideally SAP or other ERP tools
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred but not mandatory
  • Must be capable of setting up and running virtual meetings and managing tasks across digital tools
  • Adaptable, proactive, and ready to problem-solve in dynamic environments
