The Educational Support Manager is responsible for establishing support focused on educational institutions at both the local school district and college/university level within the assigned territory. Will be an advocate for music education. Will support music programs through Conn-Selmer’s Services and Programs by providing creative solutions to solve day to day problems that help educators with their needs. Key point of contact for institutional sales for defined region.

Responsibilities

  • Service key educational prospects that meet certain criteria and are linked to the dealer network in order to provide insight on our services. Build trust and rapport through continuous follow up.
  • Work with Regional Managers to cultivate relationships with programs that reside within a defined territory
  • Follow a defined sales and marketing process to identify needs of educators, create an action plan for follow up and execute utilizing target dates
  • Collaborate and provide dealers and institutions quotes for product and/or service purchases
  • Work with Regional Managers within territory to achieve monthly institutional sales goals.
  • Demonstrate and implement the instrument inventory management system for educators and district personnel where applicable
  • Assist in coordination of educational events in assigned region.
  • Track daily activity and follow-ups in a Customer Relationship Management System (CRM)
  • Meet monthly goals of contacts with educators
  • Deliver presentations of Conn-Selmer programs with dealers, schools, and conferences.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications And Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in music education or music business
  • 10 + years of public school music education or music administration desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and ability to present one-on-one or in large groups.
  • A self-starter and ability to work independently
  • Good financial aptitude in regards to budgeting and planning
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet customer expectations
  • Must reside within assigned territory
  • 25-30% Travel required across entire territory – when it is safe to do so
  • Occasional lifting of instruments/accessories – 20 to 50 pounds
