Summary
The Adverse Actions Quality Control Specialist is responsible for timely and accurate review of loan applications for approved but not accepted, denied, and withdrawn to ensure the bank is compliant with Regulation B and Fair Credit Reporting Act portions of the notice. This position Completes adverse action packages and reporting of all applications that do not result in an originated loan. Additionally, this person is responsible for investigating the accuracy of information being reported to a credit bureau agency when a customer disputes either directly to the bank or through a credit reporting agency. They also assist with other quality control duties to ensure the bank is compliant with all internal policies & procedures, federal & state regulations, and FDICIA & SOX internal controls.
Specific Job Functions

They also assist with other quality control duties to ensure the bank is compliant with all internal policies & procedures, federal & state regulations, and FDICIA & SOX internal controls.
Specific Job Functions
- Adverse Action/Withdrawn/Approved but not Accepted.
- Pull reports daily to identify applications that have a credit decision of denied, withdrawn, and approved but not accepted.
- Maintain the log of all denied, withdrawn, and approved but not accepted applications.
- Review Adverse Action Notice being mailed to applicant(s) for required regulatory information and accuracy of decline reason(s).
- Responsible for ensuring that Adverse Action Notices are being mailed within the required regulatory time frame.
- Review documents of denied, withdrawn, and approved but not accepted applications for any bank policy and regulatory elements.
- Image completed non-HMDA denied and withdrawn applications into the banks imaging system.
- Identify all denied, withdrawn or approved but not accepted applications indicated to be HMDA applicable.
- Credit Bureau Disputes
- Investigate the accuracy of all credit disputes that are received directly from a customer, or through eOscar.
- Image completed dispute information into the bank’s imaging system.
- Serve as a primary backup to the QC loan maintenance and new and renewed loan verification.
- Other Duties
- Assist with other departmental duties as assigned.
- Assist with special company and/or departmental projects.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 (one) year of loan operations experience with knowledge in both consumer and commercial loan documentation.
- Three (3) months of Adverse Action experience is required.
- Experience can run concurrently.
- Understanding of loan applications policies, procedures, documentation required by federal and state regulations, as well as internal control processes.
- Knowledge of other departments, as they relate to loan operations.
- Strong interpersonal communication
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
