PET/CT & Research Coordinator

Job Summary: The PET/CT & Research Coordinator will ensure the PET program provides high quality and timely PET scans for our urology partners. The coordinator will also perform PET scans on a routine basis. The coordinator will also coordinate PET clinical trial study patients with our urology partners clinical trials department. To include scheduling, scanning and any required study follow-up information. Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of the PET program and PET staff.
  • Directs the clinical trial program and coordinates all activities with the urology clinical trial nurse and the study vendors. Duties/Functions/Tasks:
  • Oversee or schedule and screen referred patients for medical appropriateness.
  • Assign daily duties and tasks as needed
  • Ensure all payer processes are complete.
  • Order required RAM to perform the PET scan.
  • Prepare medical history report for radiologist.
  • Perform PET scan adhering to strict radiation safety protocols.
  • Perform all required equipment QA and maintenance.
  • Maintain all state-required radiation safety records.
  • Ensure all appropriate patient charges are billed correctly and timely.
  • Collaborate with the trial investigators to provide all needed information.

Qualifications

Minimum associate’s degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred) in Nuclear Medicine Technology ARRT NMTCB Appropriate required state licenses Minimum of 5 years’ experience as staff PET/CT tech required Knowledge of medical terminology Computer knowledge: Able to document required medical information in an EMR system to maintain accurate patient records Special Work Requirements: N/A
