Substance Abuse Counselor

Full Job Description

We are looking for a Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team and provide support to individuals struggling with addiction. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience working with individuals with substance abuse issues, a strong understanding of the underlying causes of addiction, and the ability to develop and implement treatment plans. The successful candidate will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to provide empathy and understanding to clients in need.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to clients with substance abuse issues.
• Assess clients' needs and develop treatment plans.
• Conduct intake interviews and provide referrals to other services.
• Educate clients on the effects of substance abuse and relapse prevention strategies.
• Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
• Develop and implement relapse prevention plans.
• Provide other groups and therapies as required per Director of Program.
