The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a Part-Time Recreation Attendant - Senior Services to lead and improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Parks and Recreation department.

The Part-Time Recreation Attendant earns a competitive salary of $13.01- $14.08/hour based on qualifications. We also offer access to the city's recreation fitness center and employee assistance program.

Availability To Work On Weekends May Be Required.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A PART-TIME RECREATION ATTENDANT

Job Summary

The purpose of this class within the organization is to perform various duties at an assigned recreational facility, maintaining the property and its patrons.

This class works under close supervision according to set procedures.

Essential Functions

  • Monitor the activities of contracted, independent instructors, officials, rentals and volunteers.
  • Provides assistant and information to participants, spectators, umpires, and citizens regarding recreation programs and parks.
  • Evaluates participant needs and interest and makes recommendations; responds to customer and public inquiries, concerns and complaints.
  • Assists with administrative duties at the front desk; answers phone calls, sells and renews memberships, gives tours.
  • Locks and secures building, recreation areas including fields at the end of the day.
  • Develops working relationships, positively influencing and motivating staff.

Additional Duties

  • Assists in the kitchen when required.
  • Prepares for events by assisting in event set-up; participates in event tear down.
  • Transport seniors home.
  • Patrols facilities to detect damage to facilities and report damages to appropriate authority.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

Education, Experience, And Licenses

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience working with the Senior population is preferred.
  • Valid, Class "C" Texas Driver's License. Or, the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR, or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire date.
