Senior Accountant (Norwalk, CT | Hybrid, 3 days in-office)
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant to join us at Diray Media. As a women-led company with a rich history of launching and scaling brands, we value innovation, transparency, and dedication. We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to strengthen our financial team and contribute to our growth. This role plays a crucial role in managing the financial health of our agency. This position is responsible for overseeing accounts receivable (AR), conducting detailed monthly reconciliations, and providing insightful expense analyses. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses a keen eye for detail, and is committed to maintaining accuracy and efficiency in all accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of Accounts Receivable, including billing, cash applications, reconciliation, and collections, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including but not limited to cash, inventory, and prepayments, to ensure accurate general ledger maintenance.
- Process Accounts Payable invoices efficiently in both the accounting system and online banking platforms, adhering to company policies and deadlines.
- Perform detailed expense analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Maintain and ensure the accuracy of financial records and reports using QuickBooks and other accounting software.
- Utilize strong Excel skills to analyze financial data and create reports that support business decisions.
- Work independently on financial projects and tasks, demonstrating a high level of organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and minimum 5 years business experience.
- Proven experience in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, including billing, cash application, reconciliation, and collections.
- Proficient in monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, inventory, and prepayments.
- Demonstrated ability to process AP invoices in both an accounting system and online banking environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct expense analysis and financial reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with QuickBooks.
- Ability to work independently, with a high level of organization and detail orientation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the capacity to work on multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members across departments.
