As a Low Voltage Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, termination, testing, and maintenance of low voltage cabling systems, including voice, data, security, access control, and audio/visual systems. Duties include but are not limited to:
As a Low Voltage Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, termination, testing, and maintenance of low voltage cabling systems, including voice, data, security, access control, and audio/visual systems. This role requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily coordination of service calls and scheduling.
- Install, terminate, and test low voltage cable (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, coax, etc.)
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical diagrams
- Install and configure network racks, patch panels, and cable trays
- Perform cable labeling, dressing, and routing according to industry standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues and cable faults
- Collaborate with project managers and other trades to ensure timely project completion
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies
- Willingness to be a team player in a drug free environment.
- 3+ years of experience in low voltage systems installation or related field
- Knowledge of EIA/TIA standards and structured cabling practices
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used in cable installation and testing
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and work in various environments (ceilings, crawl spaces, etc.)
- Ability to follow plans, diagrams, specifications, drawings, and blueprints.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Certifications (e.g., BICSI, OSHA 10/30, manufacturer-specific training) are a plus
- Must possess a clean DMV driving record.
