Data Scientist

Continental Finance Company (CFC) in Wilmington, DE seeks a full-time Data Scientist. The minimum qualifications for this job are an MS in statistics, physics, applied mathematics, computer science, or a related field. Multiple Positions Offered.

A person in this position will:

• Develop quantitative/analytic models and applications in support of the Continental Finance Company’s risk underwriting and marketing efforts.
• Develop models, strategies, and operational guidelines for the organization's various credit card products as they relate to the analysis, tracking, and reporting of various risk metrics.
• Develop the theory and mathematics behind various models used in the development of consumer finance products.
• Develop and design best-in-class models.
• Develop and design best-in-class market intelligence applications that support decision making.
• Collaborate with risk management professionals to quickly and efficiently resolve outstanding issues and support documentation as required.
• Test new statistical tools and packages.
  
  
  

To perform this job, a person will need to have completed coursework in the following:

• Classical statistical techniques
• Regression and maximum likelihood regression.
• Machine learning and methods.
• CART, Random Forests, and XGBoost.
• Custom data queries in SQL.
• Creating complex data models in SAS or R or Python.
• Creating complex data visualizations in Tableau.
