GreenXT is seeking an Electronics Technician with experience in LPD 17 Engineering Control System, LHD 8, LHA 6, LHA 7 Machinery Control Systems, CG47 MCS or Aegis Ashore.

Responsibilities

  • Witness/support/conduct pre-testing, installation, System Operation Verification Testing (SPVT) and Installation Check-Out (INCO) of shipboard systems.
  • Inspect/verify equipment installation, operations, and conduct testing of system upgrades and/or revisions.
  • Accompany engineers or provide support at OEM/Test facilities with testing.
  • Troubleshoot control systems with the use of system documentation and electrical schematics.
  • Provide test support for all variants of fielded systems at both Land Based Engineering Site (LBES) and shipboard.
  • Provide documented status updates on a regular basis.
  • Act as a liaison between shipboard test team and technical leads located at Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia by providing immediate feedback based on shipboard issues and concerns.
  • Maintain personal source of information between jobs, tasking and issue tracking via JIRA.
  • Aid in test procedure edits and implementation.
  • Review and use of Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs), Liaison Action Requests (LARs), Test Procedures, and Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMs). Aid in test procedure edits and implementation as needed.
  • Coordinate and support progress meetings for projects and repairs.


Requirements

  • 15 years of engineering technician experience on the LPD 17 Engineering Control System, LHD 8, LHA 6, LHA 7 Machinery Control Systems, CG47 MCS or Aegis Ashore
  • LPD 17 San Antonio Class Engineering Control Systems design, integration and test for a Programmable Logic Control (PLC) base LPD 17 San Antonio Class Engineering Control System for three year and Verso Module Euro Remote Terminal Unit base LPD 17 San Antonio Class Engineering Control System for 10 or more years' experience in commissioning & in-service support
  • Support of the LPD 17 San Antonio Class Engineering Control System program in both in-service and new acquisition stages of the LPD 17 Class ship life cycle
  • Experience in new acquisition shipyard integration and test support, troubleshooting LPD 17 San Antonio Class Programmable Logic Control (PLC) based control system and Versa Module Euro (VME),), Virtual Path Cross-Connect (VPX or VITA 46)) control systems for both in-service and new acquisition ships for the electric plant and control systems.
  • Control systems for both in-service and new acquisition ships
  • Experience in conducting LPD 17 San Antonio Class Engineering Control System training in both the field and classrooms
  • Experience in providing Light Off Assessment (LOA) for the LPD 17 Class Engineering Control System.
  • Experience in testing, integrating and operating the LPD 29 Engineering Control System
  • Good oral and written communication skills is required.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking.
  • 30-50% travel away from permanent location (1-2 weeks at a time).
  • As required, off hour and weekend work will be expected to meet deliverables.
  • Ability to work onboard US Navy Ships (pier side and at sea); which requires proper safety precautions and ability to go up and down shipboard stairways (ladders); work may also require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment.
