Job Summary

Warehouse Workers ensure the right products are available at our stores. They are an important part of our distribution center operations, performing a variable range of job functions based on their skill, experience, and the Company’s dynamic business needs. Success as a Warehouse Worker requires the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team, balancing productivity, safety, and good judgment in line with company policies and procedures.

Description Of Tasks

The Warehouse Worker inspects equipment to ensure that the equipment is thoroughly reviewed for safety and operational purposes. The Warehouse Worker’s tasks require performing a variable range of functions and tasks, including but not limited to order selection, loading, receiving, put away, replenishment, and/or any other tasks that may be assigned during a shift or across shifts. The position requires working in multiple different temperature environments (including dry, chill and frozen) as assigned during a shift or across shifts. Assignments are variable such that Warehouse Workers are unlikely to perform the same tasks every day and Warehouse Workers must be able to perform various additional functions that may arise as directed and as dictated by the Company’s dynamic business needs.

Essential Job Functions

Receiving

  • Receive in-bound loads according to purchase order.
  • Work in dry, chill and frozen environments as assigned.
  • Apply labels to received pallets.
  • Ensure proper dock flow by collaborating with other receivers.
  • Report and handle damaged product to reduce shrink.

Put Away

  • Put received product pallets into rack locations in dry, chill and frozen environments as directed by warehouse management system.
  • Rotate product in racks as needed before placing newer product.
  • Bring pallets with issues to the designated area.

Order Selection

  • Perform dry, chill, and frozen order selection as assigned.
  • Stack cases skillfully to ensure stable pallets and avoid damage to product and equipment.
  • Ensure accuracy of orders through use of voice picking system.
  • Properly wrap pallets to ensure safe delivery to stores.
  • Deliver finished pallets to correct door assignment

Replenishment

  • Keep pick-slots full as guided by warehouse management system.
  • Work in dry, chill and frozen environments as assigned.
  • Rotate inventory as directed.
  • Place all product in proper pick-slots and bring any problem pallets to a designated area.
  • Take damaged product to designated area.

Loading

  • Wrap and consolidate pallets as needed before loading.
  • Scan and load pallets as directed by warehouse management system.
  • Complete loading diagram and other paperwork as needed.
  • Secure loads as needed.

Safety

  • Perform work productively, accurately, and safely.
  • Identify and report potentially unsafe conditions and situations.
  • Follow safe and proper work methods.
  • Ensure work area and equipment are kept clean at all times.

Education/Training/Experience

Training/Experience

  • Experience working in a distribution center environment is preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to work in a multi-temperature environment.
  • Must have ability to repetitively lift and move heavy boxes (up to 75 lbs.).
  • Prior familiarity with food safety and/or OSHA standards is preferred.
  • Existing warehouse certifications and recent experience with: forklift, electric pallet jack, MHE Equipment is preferred.
  • Warehouse experience in high volume food service, distribution, logistics, or equivalent is preferred.

Machines, Tools, Equipment, And Work Aids

RFS scan gun, electric pallet jack, forklifts, and safety boots. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be supplied (Safety Vest, Safety Glasses, and Gloves).

Environmental Conditions

The warehouse is considered a standard, multi-temperature warehouse environment where the temperatures vary considerably:

  • General indoor warehouse temperature is partially dependent upon the outdoor temperature.
  • Produce refrigerated coolers are maintained at 40-45 degrees.
  • Refrigerated coolers are maintained between 0 and 25 degrees.
  • Some of the cold environments require special uniforms.

COMPENSATION: S tarting Rate is $22.00 per hour; candidates with warehouse experience may earn an additional $1.00 per hour for 1-2 years of verified experience and up to an additional $2.00 per hour with 3+years of verified warehouse experience.
