As a senior accountant in Financial Reporting, you will be part of an incredible team that supports external reporting for our growing and complex global business. Our team plays a key role in collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather information, support preparation of the financial statements and develop the financial story for quarterly and annual financial reporting. We pride ourselves in continuously improving processes and increasing efficiencies, while maintaining high quality reporting and effective internal controls. We work in close coordination with many other teams throughout the company to produce external financial reports used by analysts and investors globally.

As a senior accountant, Financial Reporting, you will…
- Collaborate - Work across multiple teams within the organization to prepare financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
- Inspire and influence - Effectively support cross-functional projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and influence decision making.
- Lead with knowledge – Research and advise on accounting and reporting impacts of new or proposed transactions and recommend solutions.
- Innovate - Collaborate for continuous improvement in processes, use of systems and internal controls impacting financial reporting.
- Own – Act as a steward of our financial statements by demonstrating strong attention to detail.
- Enjoy working on an energetic, fun team and have a clear ability to drive processes forward as part of a highly collaborative team, that thrives when partnering with other teams and stakeholders, while acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
- Relevant experience in professional accounting and reporting (3+ years):
- Including 2+ years in SEC reporting
- Experience executing processes effectively in a fast-paced environment, while ensuring strong internal control compliance
- Experience using SEC reporting systems preferred, Workiva experience is a plus
- Experience using an ERP system and business intelligence and reporting tools (such as Hyperion and Oracle) preferred
- Public accounting experience preferred
- CPA preferred
- XBRL review experience preferred
- If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
