Job Overview

Reporting to the Material Planning Supervisor, the Launch Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of new program material and part readiness in support of successful production launches. This includes staging, inventory accuracy, and real-time communication to cross-functional teams. The Launch Coordinator ensures that all launch materials are properly managed, tracked, and moved through the plant efficiently and in accordance with DMS procedures.

Primary Accountabilities And Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily walk-throughs of launch areas to confirm all items are staged and labeled accurately.
  • Perform daily market walks to ensure no launch materials are incorrectly staged in the production market.
  • Count and verify launch parts to ensure SAP records are current and accurate.
  • Support launch and production planners with material or process needs as necessary.
  • Run shortage reports and escalate critical issues as needed.
  • Manage incoming launch materials and relocate them to designated areas.
  • Maintain an organized and clearly labeled launch shelf with appropriate identification tags.
  • Communicate potential part shortages promptly to the launch planner.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies by reviewing the launch area, build area, and SAP BOM (C512/C515).
  • Report unrecorded scrap findings to the Supply Chain team.
  • Track launch part quantities and locations using Microsoft Excel and save reports to SharePoint.
  • Communicate any launch layout issues to layout management for resolution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Education/Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and/or qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience in manufacturing, logistics, or material handling (automotive preferred)
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning systems
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and SharePoint for tracking and reporting
  • Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated and proactive problem solver
