Overview
LifeLong Medical Care is looking for a School Based Program Manager. The Program Manager will work as part of a team of health care providers to improve the health status of students at LifeLong’s school-based centers. The Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of our Scholl Health Centers and maintain/strengthen school level relationships. Will oversee strategic initiatives, strategic planning, vison alignment, leadership development of staff, budget/planning, and execution, capital improvements projects, as well as District, County, State and Federal level relationships.
This is a full time, benefit eligible position in Berkeley and Oakland.

We have over 15 primary care health centers and deliver integrated services including psychosocial, referrals, chronic disease management, dental, health education, home visits, and much, much more.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of school-based health centers
- Collaborate with the AMD of School Health Services, Psychosocial Manager (PSM) of School Health Services and Dental Operations Manager on areas affecting patient care
- Attend internal and external meetings, represent and advocate on behalf of LifeLong at the city, county, state and national level.
- Supervise school based Center Supervisors on administrative and operational functions. This includes but not limited to assuring appropriate staffing levels at each site, site compliance with federal, state, local and funder requirements, reviews, payroll approvals, finance and grant reporting, service tickets, service level agreements and corrective actions.
- Develop and optimize school based health center programs and staff, including but not limited to posting, interviewing, hiring and training for new positions.
- Manage grant reporting for each school based clinic, in conjunction with the Grants & Contracts department
- Manage all administrative functions connected to school based operations such as purchase requisitions, check requisitions, purchase orders, etc. for any monies being spent out of the school based grants or third party funds.
- Provide input in the budget planning process for the school based clinics, with the Grants & Contracts department, finance department, senior management
- Seek and make recommendations for appropriate grant opportunities that will achieve and maintain sustainability
- Support the continued integration of medical, behavioral health, health education and other services at school based sites.
- Collaborate in the develop and implement school based health policies and procedures in conjunction with the AMD, PSM and LMC Admin.
- Collaborate in the development of training materials for school based health center staff, as appropriate.
- Collaborate effectively and proactively with LifeLong's support departments (i.e., IT, Billing, HR, Grants &Contracts, etc.).
- Collaborate with the Site Supervisors expand and strengthen all sectors of school/community involvement outreach activities and engage in ongoing community organizing efforts
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
- Other duties assigned by supervisor.
- Demonstrated ability to manage health center daily operations and collaborate with multiple stake holders as well as teams within the teams.
- Demonstrate ability to develop staff professionally.
- Demonstrate to ability to anticipate the needs of the communities we serve and proactively collaborate with internal and external partners in order to deliver high quality healthcare
- Ability to work well independently, and within a team environment.
- High attention to detail, ability to prioritize effectively and the ability to creatively problem solve.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to exercise independent, sound judgment in sometimes ambiguous situations.
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines and always demonstrate cooperative behavior with supervisors, subordinates, colleagues, and clients.

- Lead with empathy.
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree from an accredited college/university in Public Health, Social Work, or a related field preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
- Experience working in school based health care, adolescent health and/or with school systems.
- Experience managing employees successfully and/or demonstrated success in leading teams effectively.
