Purpose

Leads the creation of an Artificial Intelligence Center-of-Excellence, driving Responsible AI practices, and establishing the AI engineering foundation for the Enterprise. Leads the delivery of technology, product and capability enablement roadmaps. These technology products are part of a complex, large-scale program driving strategic impact on CareFirst operations through AI-driven automation. Responsible for delivering these products on time and on budget. Serves as single point of accountability for the development and delivery of specific AI use cases.

Qualifications
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Experience: 8 years' Related professional experience. 3 years' Management experience.

Essential Functions
- Defines the strategy for delivering technology product roadmaps deployed to meet the current and future strategic goals, risk management imperatives, and mandates on a national scale. Creates a legacy modernization roadmap to enable strategic goals and delivers the capabilities defined in the roadmap. Works closely with senior management to define new products and services that can meet current and future needs. Responsible for sponsoring strategic initiatives, influencing product strategy, developing solutions, and securing funding and prioritization to proceed.
- Works proactively with customers to set direction for program initiatives, prioritize work across programs, propose future initiatives, support continuous planning cycle, and seek out new opportunities. Acts as the account manager to ensure successful completion of the technology product project portfolio. Is the escalation point for major issues associated with technology delivery programs and is responsible for working with executive leaders internal and external to the organization.
- Maintains portfolio view of all initiatives within their responsibility; ensures adherence to consistent product management guidelines and policies for programs; Ensures the technology delivery programs are managed on schedule, on time, and within scope while escalating highly visible issues and risks to senior management attention. Manages the budget of the portfolio of AI initiatives. Directly responsible for the software engineering teams and third parties supporting the product delivery.
- Provides direction, prioritization and motivation to staff and execution pods in a Fusion operating model. Provides prioritization, direction and guidance to the technology product delivery teams. Delegate responsibility and authority to appropriate staff within the teams. Evaluates performance of each team member, generates development plans and sets goals within the context of the corporate policy. Provides coaching, counseling and motivation to team members ensuring staff has the appropriate tools and training.
