** Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle will be opening a permanent supportive housing facility in Federal Way WA. Must be able to train and work in Seattle until the facility opens. **
The Behavioral Health Navigator reports to the Director of Public Health Equity. This position is primarily based out of our permanent supportive housing facility in Federal Way and will connect participants in need of mental health and substance use support to the appropriate programs and services offered in the community. The Behavioral Health Navigator will develop and maintain a network of mental health and substance use resources to provide warm referrals for participants. They will help participants navigate the mental health system and overcome barriers to ensure they do not fall through the cracks. In addition to working at the Federal Way site, this position will support participants at other ULMS sites by referral, including the young adult shelter and resource center as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- 2 years of experience working with underserved communities in direct service capacity
- Direct experience or experience working with people experiencing homelessness and/or experiencing behavioral health or substance use issues
- Passionate about providing direct service
- Understanding of social determinants of health
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health conditions and barriers to accessing care
- Strong de-escalation skills
- Proficiency with MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with staff and partner organizations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to connect with a diverse audience
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Demonstrates cultural competency
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including late nights and weekends as needed
- Most Benefits will take effect on the 1st of the month following a 60-day waiting period
