We are seeking a Molecular Technologist to join our Laboratory Operations team to perform novel NGS based assays for the assessment of on- and off-target edits generated by gene editing technologies for cell and gene therapy applications. The ideal candidate will be experienced in clinical laboratory operations and the execution of high-complexity automated NGS testing workflows. The position will involve working both independently and collaboratively with senior personnel and cross-functional teams, while maintaining strict adherence to established protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

We are seeking a Molecular Technologist to join our Laboratory Operations team to perform novel NGS based assays for the assessment of on- and off-target edits generated by gene editing technologies for cell and gene therapy applications. The ideal candidate will be experienced in clinical laboratory operations and the execution of high-complexity automated NGS testing workflows. The position will involve working both independently and collaboratively with senior personnel and cross-functional teams, while maintaining strict adherence to established protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform library preparation and NGS sequencing to support lab operations in adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality control procedures.
- Operate and maintain automated liquid handling equipment, NGS sequencers, and other molecular lab instruments (centrifuges, pipettes, thermocyclers).
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly equipment maintenance and assist in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new assays.
- troubleshoot technical challenges and actively participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Review, revise, and edit SOPs to ensure consistency and clarity.
- Thoroughly document and investigate Quality Events (including non-conformances, deviations, and incident reports).
- Assemble sample acquisition kits, coordinate shipping and receipt of materials, and update inventory trackers.
- Support validation and process performance qualifications.
- BS/BA required, preferably in clinical laboratory science, medical technology, chemical, physical, or biological science.
- 2+ years of molecular laboratory experience in a regulated laboratory.
- ASCP certification in molecular biology is preferred.
- Experience in molecular biology, genomics, and CRISPR gene editing technologies.
- Experience maintaining quality and integrity of the laboratory, sample processing, equipment maintenance, and SOPs.
- Experience in validation, implementation, and performance of complex genomic technologies and workflows for automated library preparation, NGS, and molecular genetics testing.
- Familiarity with high throughput platforms and common molecular laboratory equipment (pipettes, thermocyclers, liquid handlers).
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and experience ensuring compliance with laboratory standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Work 100% on site in Waltham, Monday to Friday.
