Tri-State Bobcat, a proven leader in the industry for over 40 years, is expanding and seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician to join our team. With five locations and a reputation for excellence, we are looking for someone who is ready to service and repair a wide range of compact, forestry, and grounds equipment.
At Tri-State Bobcat, we offer $30 to $45 per hour, plus overtime, for your mechanical expertise and problem-solving skills. Enjoy a Monday to Friday schedule (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM) with no weekends (some variability based on customer needs). This position is based out of our Burnsville location, and you'll work independently with minimal supervision at client sites.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Diagnose and repair various types of equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to extend equipment lifespan
- Communicate progress and updates on jobs to the service manager
- Inspect and test equipment after repairs are completed to ensure quality
- Order parts and ensure all necessary repairs are completed to specification
- Ensure work orders are completed accurately with proper documentation of labor and parts used
- Work independently in the field, while maintaining company safety standards
- Participate in training programs (including limited out-of-state training) to stay updated on new equipment and technologies
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience as a mechanic, with expertise in diesel engine repair and service
- A complete set of tools (eligible for our Tool Allowance Program to help you grow your collection!)
- Experience with hydraulic/hydrostatic systems, electrical systems, and troubleshooting
- Valid driver's license with a DOT health card or the ability to obtain one
- Experience operating Bobcat or similar compact construction equipment
- Strong computer skills for diagnostics and work order documentation
- Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
- Excellent time management skills and a commitment to completing work on time
