Logistics Coordinator

The Logistics Coordinator plays a vital role in driving the efficiency and reliability of our logistics operations. The role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing shipments from origin to destination, ensuring on-time delivery while optimizing cost and performance. A successful coordinator takes ownership of every order, responds promptly to inquiries, and collaborates effectively with other departments to ensure seamless execution of the logistics process.

Job Duties

• Choose cost-effective carrier solutions using available tools and resources, including rate negotiation and order consolidation.
• Communicate effectively and build positive working relationship with carriers, vendors, customers, and internal team members while striving to exceed service expectations.
• Manage orders throughout the order lifecycle utilizing a Transportation Management System
• Act as the primary point of contact for freight-related issues, ensuring clear communication and timely resolutions while working closely with Key stakeholders.
• Maintain data integrity including but not limited to pick up information, delivery information, appointment times, and internal logistics notes, and document retention (i.e. insurance, W9, DOT authority).
• Identify and develop relationships with current and new freight carriers
• Track and improve carrier performance through communication, feedback, and holding carrier accountable to commitments.
  
  

Desired Skills And Experience

• Minimum 2-year college degree or college level course work or 4 years logistics-based work experience preferred
• Food and beverage experience is a plus
• Logistic industry knowledge experience preferred
• Demonstrates strong multitasking and organizational skills, with the agility to adapt quickly and perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced logistics environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to drive timely resolution
• Willingness to rotate within the logistics department and perform various training and support functions to support the team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Focused on driving innovation and efficiency by continuously improving logistics operations and procedures.
