About this role: As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for all brand, sales, marketing and business development activities related to Down To Earth All Natural Fertilizers. The manager is extremely skillful in strengthening key account relationships, evaluating new business opportunities, driving strategic growth, expanding retail activation and education, and planning the overall go to market strategy for the brand. Through effective project management, creative problem solving and skillful communication he/she will manage the complex nature of an established brand while leading the evolution of its assets and activities in a changing marketplace. This position will collaborate with the Finance, Distribution and Fertilizer Production departments, as well as with colleagues from other divisions.

Requirements
Strategic Business Development
- Develop and execute a growth strategy that emphasizes profitability, brand building and customer satisfaction
- Identify and target opportunities for new accounts, markets, products and services that bring long term value to the business
- Develop a comprehensive integration strategy for E-commerce business opportunities with a strong focus on Amazon and related internet platforms
- Monitor sales performance to ensure goals are met and in support of organizational strategy and objectives
- Manage professional relationships with key accounts, distribution partners, brand representatives and other stakeholders
- Advise accounts of all levels on sales policies, pricing, promotions and processes related to their unique relationship type
- Prepare sales forecasts and projections based on customer performance, industry research and market conditions
- Manage and develop budgets for sales and marketing related expenditures including travel, brand promotion and business acquisition
- Oversee all aspects of the Down To Earth All Natural Fertilizers brand portfolio including media assets, marketing campaigns, creative content and related promotional activities
- Manage appearance, content and creative direction of the fertilizer brand website, social media accounts and related intersection with E-commerce platforms
- Develop strategy to integrate and utilize these assets to drive growth and revenue generation while continuing to build brand recognition and customer loyalty
- Develop and maintain excellent customer satisfaction levels with internal and external audiences
- Demonstrate a bias toward service, quality and teamwork by building constructive and effective working relationships internally and externally
- Aid in managing order process flow and related customer communications
- Travel to customer locations, facilities or offices for meetings, trainings, trade shows and account management

- Qualifications - Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in sales, marketing, business administration, digital communication or a relevant field
- Strong digital content capabilities, including experience with Amazon A+ and social media content creation
- Demonstrated affinity for collaboration, including counterparts in other divisions
- Minimum five years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in garden distribution and or wholesale distribution
- Ability to set sales targets and achieve them effectively
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills
- Strong budget management and sales forecasting experience
- Strong working knowledge of ERP and CRM software and experience using tools to manage the sales and order fulfillment process
- Strong analytical skills to identify trends and sales patterns, as well as forecast strategic direction and modification based on facts and data
- Ability to design and implement a successful sales strategy
- Strong documented business acumen and expertise, not just sales knowledge
- Strong social skills and ability to interact in diverse environments
- Demonstrated ability to persuade others based on facts/data
- Sales management experience

- Working Conditions: This position is based out of our main office but will require extensive travel. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The ability to travel is required. The position may require the individual to sometimes work irregular or extended work hours and meet multiple demands from others. Work is mostly performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to electronics work.
