Schedule: 7:30AM – 4:00PM, Day Shift
Starting Wage: $21.15 - $30.45 per hour, depending on experience
Farwest’s Quality Assurance Department seeks a dependable and customer-oriented individual to join their Eugene team as a Quality Control Technician. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that all steel products meet the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance with customer specifications. The ideal candidate will support production teams by conducting inspections, maintaining detailed documentation, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts that uphold Farwest’s commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections in accordance with company, industry, and customer standards
- Develop and maintain written procedures for the Steel Division
- Monitor and document all production processes and records
- Conduct formal First Article Inspections using internal or customer-provided documentation
- Support production by providing guidance rooted in a strong understanding of Steel Processing operations, including Laser, FLC, HDP, Saw cutting, and Press Brake Forming, ensuring all processes align with quality standards and customer requirements.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word) for reporting and documentation
- Collaborate with team members and departments to maintain quality standards
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience in the steel industry with the ability to read blueprints and customer drawings
- Strong understanding of print tolerances and inspection tools (tape measure, calipers, micrometer, etc.)
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Working knowledge and understanding of Steel Processing (Laser, FLC, HDP, Saw) and Press Brake Forming
