Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Director of Maintenance to lead and oversee the Maintenance Department at Alliance Care Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. This role requires a highly organized individual with a strong ability to manage and improve maintenance services, policies, and procedures, ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate the Maintenance Department’s activities, services, and programs.
  • Develop and maintain written maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Assist maintenance staff with departmental policies, equipment, and supplies.
  • Review and update departmental manuals and job descriptions annually, and recommend changes to the Administrator.
  • Interpret policies and procedures to staff, residents, visitors, and government agencies.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments (e.g., Dietary, Nursing, Activities).
  • Report maintenance operations to the Administrator, including written and oral updates.
  • Submit accident and incident reports to HR within 24 hours.
  • Work with the Infection Control Coordinator to identify and address job-related maintenance functions with potential exposure to blood or body fluids.
  • Ensure the upkeep of storage rooms, utility closets, and workspaces.
  • Participate in facility surveys and inspections by government agencies.
  • Assist in addressing maintenance deficiencies noted in surveys and inspections.
  • Stay current on economic conditions and recommend adjustments to maintenance services to ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Perform administrative duties, including completing forms, reports, and evaluations.
  • Supervise and ensure the quality of services performed by outside vendors.
  • Conduct environmental inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Maintain life safety and preventive maintenance logs in the online portal.
  • Assign and prioritize work orders, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Delegate responsibilities in your absence.
  • Forecast departmental needs and assist in budget planning.
  • Monitor departmental expenditures and ensure accurate financial records.


Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a nursing home or healthcare setting.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work cooperatively and maintain a positive outlook.
  • Empathetic towards the needs of residents and families.
  • Professionalism and respect when communicating with residents, families, co-workers, and vendors.
  • Strong integrity and responsibility for task completion and quality of work.
  • Proactive problem-solver with the ability to make sound decisions.
