The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting tasks, including transaction entry, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with the preparation of financial statements. Sterling Labs is seeking an experienced accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting tasks, including transaction entry, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with the preparation of financial statements. Additionally, the candidate will provide excellent customer service with the utmost accuracy and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter monthly transactions into accounting software like QuickBooks Online and Bill.com, including payroll accruals.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and month-end journal entries.
- Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, the general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Handle all phases of payables/receivables.
- Prepare monthly sales and use tax returns.
- Assist with managing fixed asset schedules and depreciation, and prepare journal entries related to the month-end close.
- Process credit card transactions and remote bank deposits.
- Professionally address customer inquiries regarding invoices.
- Manage collections.
- Compile information for internal and external audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Education, and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or related field.
- Experience in accounting/bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable.
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Bill.com
- 2-5 years of professional experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Working knowledge and understanding of financial statements.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
