This position's work location is fully remote with the ocassional time onsite as needed. The selected candidate may only work remotely from a New England state (ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI).
The Network Development & Clinical Growth Consultant will support the Associate Director of Network Development & Clinical Growth on business development and transactions across the clinical enterprise, supporting the associated strategy, business planning, negotiation, project management, contracting and analytic support. This includes: (a) new/regional campus business development and campus expansion business strategy, (b) Dana-Farber’s domestic affiliate network, and (c) strategies for regional/domestic clinical growth, and (d) clinical joint ventures.
The Network Development & Clinical Growth Consultant will focus on both project management and financials/analytics, in roughly a 50/50 split of time varied by project. The Consultant will provide deal and project planning, contractual project management, transaction projections, negotiation modeling, analytic support, and sensitivity analyses. This role will be instrumental in the support of the Associate Director in the development of P&Ls, pro formas, and incremental margin analyses for deal structuring. This role will serve as a primary project manager role in support of the Associate Director for deals and project plans for growth initiatives and network development projects and will need experience and skill in developing and maintaining Gannt charts and project plans using MS Project or similar PM software. This role also provides analytics of large datasets to help identify potential partners that DFCI should be approaching for transactions and alliances. As part of this process, the Network Development Consultant will need to understand and analyze internal clinical and volume data, claims data, demographic data, market data, and financial data; including working with large datasets from external organizations to find the appropriate data required and provide recommendations and insights as appropriate.
This role will work closely with the Finance, Enterprise Data and Analytics (ED&A), operational leadership, and facilities teams at DFCI.

- Provide project management support for deals/transactions and growth initiatives as well as existing relationships using PM software.
- Develop pro formas and financial models.
- Collaborate with external parties and consulting firms to obtain/provide data as needed for engagements.
- Project manage valuation firm engagements.
- Provide data analytics related to financial, volume, operational, and quality metrics.
- Collect and manipulate data from external departments to provide insights to Business Strategy department.
- Create dashboards and track departmental KPIs.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a business-related field; Masters (MHA, MBA) preferred.
- Hospital/healthcare provider experience required as employer or client.
- 2 years of related work experience in health care (provider side) consulting; health care provider transactions, hospital/provider management/administration including in project management or analytics roles in hospital strategy/network development/business development roles.
- Experience working in a cancer service, cancer investments/transactions, or a cancer center preferred.
- Experience with Pro Forma development and P&L management.
- Experience working with large datasets.
- Significant experience in project management.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Strong data analytics skills & project management skills.
- Advanced MS Powerpoint & Excel modeling skills, including: Pivot Tables, Data Validation, What-If Analysis, and Forecasting.
- Project Management software expertise including in MS Project or similar PM software.
- PMP or similar project management certification preferred, or willingness to pursue a PMP or similar certification.
- Ability to work effectively across internal departments for a variety of stakeholders as well as external parties in a professional manner.
- Ability to convert data into insights and recommendations from which to take action.
- Ability to read income statements, balance sheets, statements of cash flows, bond disclosure documents; Pro Forma development and/or P&L responsibility experience.
- Ability to translate insights into actionable items for different levels of stakeholders.
