Schedule: Full Time, Varied Hours/Shift, 10
Position Summary
Prepare daily work and job schedules. Maintain a complete list and daily inventory of equipment. Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization in order to coordinate service and schedules. Knowledge of principles and methods for moving patients or equipment by stretcher, wheel chair, cart, or lifting devices. Schedule and dispatch workers, i.e. transport/lift tech, equipment, or service to appropriate locations according to Medical Centers’ requests, specifications, or needs, using radios or telephones. Also, transports patients, patient charts, equipment and other Medical Center items throughout the hospital in a safe and orderly manner. Must be in good physical condition. Must be able to lift, bend, push, pull and walk without restrictions. Must have excellent communication skills/interpersonal skills. Normal hearing/vision. Must have knowledge and skills to perform all duties of a transporter / Lift Tech when required. Perform safe patient handling and movement of transfers. Communicate effectively with patients, patient families and other members of the health care team. Maintains patient handling and lift equipment. Provides education related to safe patient handling and movement. Must have tolerant and positive attitude toward the public. Must be able to make sound decisions concerning safety. Understand the age appropriate care in providing service to patients. Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Exposure to outside elements. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Good physical condition. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, bend, pull, push, and walk without restrictions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- CPR certification required.
- One-year work experience, preferably in health care. Four weeks of on-the- job training.
- Demonstrates the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships. Also demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with patients, employees, and families.
- Able to work in a stressful environment.
