Accountant

ICI Metals, Inc., an established metals service center located in Strongsville, OH, has a great opportunity for an accountant/bookkeeper. Great work/life balance and a respectful, team-oriented environment!

The Position Is Responsible For The Following Duties

• Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
• Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.
• Bring the books to the trial balance stage.
• Perform trial checks of the posting process.
• Enter data, maintain records, and create reports & financial statements.
• Process accounts receivable/payable, and handle payroll in a timely manner.
• Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner.
• Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable.
• Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly.
• Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed.
• Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis.
• Maintain the chart of accounts.
• Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
• Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
  
  

Secondary Duties Include

• Issue timely and complete financial statements.
• Tracking and analyzing benchmarking against which to measure the performance of company operations.
• Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics and monthly sales reports.
• Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
  
  

The Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related financial field. OR
• At least 5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Quick Books.
• Open to learning new software.
• Excellent phone demeanor & customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers & suppliers via phone and e-mail.
• Ability to shift priorities throughout the day as needed.
