Description

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analysis of samples via established methods, including ICP/MS, HPLC, titration, FTIR, UV/Vis, reagent preparation, glassware cleaning, development of methods, reporting results.
  • Validate laboratory methods.
  • Manage laboratory projects (including method development, instrument maintenance, documentation, etc.)
  • Perform moderate to complex mathematical calculations.
  • Accountable for accuracy of results reported.
  • Accurate and timely recording of process parameters on specified documents.
  • Maintain a safe, clean laboratory.
  • Proper use and care of laboratory instruments, equipment and reagents.
  • Interpretation of data and observations in the lab.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform all tasks defined above.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline preferred/experience in lieu of degree acceptable.
  • Experience in a professional laboratory setting required.
  • Must have working knowledge of computers including MS Office applications.
  • Must be able to understand, speak, read and write in English in order to perform the essential functions of the job as they relate to comprehension of laws, regulations, standards, documents and other internal and external communications.
  • Must be familiar with all OSHA and cGMP’s regulations.
  • Must possess the ability to develop and maintain a teamwork environment.
  • Ability to move about to accomplish tasks.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations relative to job requirements.
  • Ability to write and prepare business letters, memorandums and reports.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, reach and crouch. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
  • Working knowledge of scientific principles relating to analytical chemistry.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Subject to moderate noise level
  • Subject to high noise levels where hearing protection may be required
  • Subject to atmospheric conditions, such as fumes from reagents, odors, powders, dust and other particles
