About The Role

Come be a part of exciting clean energy technology startup in beautiful Loveland, CO! You will work together with an ambitious and talented group of individuals decarbonizing the industrial heat sector. We’re building cutting-edge solutions to transform how industrial heat is generated—clean, efficient, and electrified. To achieve that goal, AtmosZero is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in industrial controls, especially with PLC programming and HMI development.

What You'll Do

  • Designing, programming, and debugging control systems and data acquisition for thermal systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and other control and measurement devices
  • Collaborating with the engineering team to ensure that the controls are integrated seamlessly into the overall system design
  • Testing and debugging control systems to ensure it meets all performance and safety requirements
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting to the manufacturing and operation teams during assembly, commissioning, and operation
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including operating and maintenance manuals, troubleshooting guides, reports, specifications, and test results
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities to optimize the control system and improve system performance

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial controls engineering
  • Proficiency with PLC programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram) and HMI development with commercial control equipment (Siemens TIA Portal)
  • Knowledge of SCADA and historical databases (Ignition)
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Preferred candidates have one or more of the following qualifications

  • Experience with electrical and control hardware design, including the selection and sizing of control and data acquisition components
  • Experience designing for volume manufacturing
  • Experience with controls development for thermal systems
  • Experience with process control and optimization
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g. UL, CE, NFPA)
  • Experience with wiring diagrams, P&IDs, panel layout, and logic diagrams
  • Experience providing field support for industrial equipment
  • Familiarity with electric motors and drive controls
  • Familiarity with industrial networking

Base Compensation: $108,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
