Job Title: Staffing Coordinator

Facility: Nassau Rehabilitation and Nursing Center

Location: Hempstead, New York

Shift: Full-Time, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Salary: $35-$37 per hour (depending on experience)

Job Description:

Nassau Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a reliable and detail-driven Staffing Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring appropriate nursing coverage, maintaining accurate schedules, and supporting the Director of Nursing Services (DON) with staffing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a current contact list of all nursing department employees
• Track daily attendance, tardiness, and absenteeism; report excessive occurrences to the DON
• Collaborate with HR and DON on modified duty scheduling and policy compliance
• Assist staff with timecards, leave forms, and schedule requests
• Create and post monthly schedules based on coverage needs and requests
• Respond to staffing-related calls and questions from employees
• Ensure new hires are properly set up with timecards, schedules, and IDs before orientation
• Maintain up-to-date license and certification records for nursing staff
• Provide scheduling support to nursing supervisors and handle payroll preparation for nursing and agency staff
• Step in for Unit Secretary duties when needed
• Make staffing adjustments based on census and avoid unnecessary overtime
  
  
  

Requirements:

• Minimum one year of experience as a Staffing Coordinator in a nursing facility
• Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
• Proficiency in coordinating schedules and understanding healthcare staffing needs
