Responsibilities
- Work on Electromagnetic modeling (EM) of superconducting chips and packaging for new flagship and testbed designs. Apply the results of EM simulations for predicting fidelities of quantum gates.
- Analyze coupling between different elements of the quantum circuit with the analysis of chip modes and packaging modes affected by the chip structures. Work on numerical analysis using High Frequency Structural Simulator (HFSS) and other EM simulators.
- Analyze surface loss contributions to the qubit T1 budget with the development and maintenance of software, and connecting EM simulations to the design workflow.
- Collaborate with teams focused on design and fabrication using theoretical analysis to improve qubit coherence and gate operations. Present your work at internal and external meetings, and in journal papers.
