Overview

This role is crucial to the office of the Head of School and to the community as a whole. The Executive Assistant represents the Head’s office to all constituencies; this person facilitates policies and procedures in a manner that reflects the school’s mission and the Head’s vision.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and seamlessly anticipates needs in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Examples Of Regular Duties And Expectations Include

  • Facilitation of the smooth and efficient operation of the Head of School’s office;
  • Facilitation of high-level administrative and organizational tasks, exhibiting professionalism and warmth;
  • Dedication to the highest level of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Independent judgment in performing administrative responsibilities;
  • Representation and service as liaison for the Head of School;
  • Maintenance of the Head of School’s calendar;
  • Maintenance of the Assistant Head of School’s calendar;
  • Creation and/or editing of publications;
  • Management of special projects and initiatives at the discretion of the Head of School;
  • Assistance in coordinating leadership team activities and school events;
  • Catering for specific events, e.g. in-service programs, ad hoc committees, ‘Meet the Board’, Grade Level Socials, etc.;
  • Providing general office support and collaboration with other administrative staff as needed;
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Board Liaison

  • Assisting the Chair of the Board and the Board of Trustees.

BA/BS required; advanced coursework or certifications in administrative or educational support fields preferred.

Minimum of 3-5 years of executive-level administrative experience, preferably in an educational environment.
