Purpose of Job

The Marketplace Platform Manager will lead strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of Newegg’s Marketplace platform. This role involves managing integration processes, improving marketplace systems, and overseeing product content quality. The ideal candidate has experience in eCommerce product management, business system analysis, and team leadership.

Job Description

Business System Analysis & Management

  • Identify and analyze business challenges, working with users and developers to design solutions.
  • Define project scope, document processes, and align platform development with business goals.
  • Conduct prototype testing, update user manuals, and provide training for stakeholders.
  • Continuously enhance marketplace systems based on business needs, seller feedback, and industry trends.

Integration System Management

  • Research, design, and develop new integration functions and technologies with system analysts and developers.
  • Lead the integration team to guide sellers through onboarding and API integration.
  • Provide daily support for sellers, resolving technical and operational integration issues.
  • Ensure marketplace systems meet platform standards and best practices.

Content Management

  • Oversee the content team, ensuring high-quality and accurate product listings.
  • Develop best practices for content optimization, including SEO-driven product descriptions.
  • Work with sellers to enhance content quality and improve product visibility.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience in 3rd party service platforms such as: Salesforce, Rithum (Channel Advisor), CommerceHub, etc
  • 5-7 years of experience in eCommerce or software industry product management.
  • Strong knowledge of marketplace business models, platform standards, and system integration.
  • Experience in strategic planning, project management, and team leadership.
  • Ability to write functional/system requirements documents and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Experience in coaching, training, and staff development.

Essential Mental & Physical Function

Mental Functions: Decisions may affect a work unit or area within a department. May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department. This position performs a variety of routine duties within established policies and procedures or by referral to supervisor's guidelines.

Physical Functions: Sitting required 90% of the time. Walking and standing required 5% of the time respectively. No heavy lifting required. Constant keyboarding and telephone usage.
