We are seeking a Forensic Restoration Counselor, PRN to join our team.

Starting rate of $25-$28 hour + mileage reimbursement

Position Details

The forensic/restoration counselor is responsible for providing consistent services to individuals served and develop and execute MCRT care plan. Provide updates and information to the internal and external MCRT team members concerning progress toward regaining competency. Implement goal plans in conjunction with individual’s other treatment team members.

  • Implement, evaluate, document, prepare reports concerning individual’s care plans.
  • Provide individual and group education and supportive interventions.
  • Educate and support the individuals as the individual works to regain competency.

Work Within The Goals Of The MCRT Including Providing

  • Rehabilitative skills training
  • Psychoeducation to aid in the restoration of competency.
  • Provide support to assist with ongoing competency during court proceedings and processes.
  • Work with the criminal justice system to provide the needed information and support necessary to assist an individual in regaining competency.

The objectives of the MCRT team is to assist the individual to be able to function adequately in six areas and to have a judge determine the individual has regained competency to stand trial/proceed.

  • Understanding the nature of the charges
  • Knowledge of possible pleas, consequences, and penalties
  • Have knowledge of court procedures
  • Have the capacity to demonstrate rational understanding.
  • Have the capacity to assist attorney.
  • Have the capacity for appropriate behavior in the court.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Possess The Following Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, special education, related field, or experience equivalent.
  • Experience working with forensic populations preferred.
  • Valid California State Driver’ license.
  • Travel is necessary to offer support across North Bay, encompassing Napa, Sonoma, and Solano Counties.
