Job Summary
The Senior Manager / Associate Director position in Project Management is a highly visible leadership role for, strategic leaders with a proven track record in managing successful project teams. The candidate is expected to play a pivotal role in supporting the program lead in the strategy and direction for the Core Team as well as managing careful and timely execution of the program. The successful candidate will demonstrate mastery in key core competencies around leadership and teamwork, communication, problem solving and decision-making, and conflict resolution. This individual is able to hold accountability for sound decisions through his/her mastery of essential technical content around drug development, study design, and therapeutic areas. The Sangamo PDPM manages a few projects and programs in the company’s portfolio from preIND stage to early and later clinical development phases ensuring projects start and move forward as effectively and successfully as possible through implementation of project management best practices. Initially, this role will be responsible for Nav 1.7 project management. THIS POSITION WILL BE A HYBRID ROLE BASED IN OUR RICHMOND, CA FACILITY. WE ARE ONLY CONSIDERING LOCAL CANDIDATES.

Pay Range
The anticipated salary range is for candidates who will work in our San Francisco Bay Area work locations. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include, but are not limited to, the type and length of experience with the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. This salary range may not apply to remote positions that work in other states.

Essential Functions
- Partnering with the Program Team Leader (PTL), lead and manage the development of pipeline assets through clinical development, BLA submission and launch readiness
- Support PTL in leading core team and partnering efforts
- Accountable for managing all program timelines, dashboards, and tracking deliverables
- Drive program decision-making processes and coordinate with the team or functions to identify and resolve program or resource issues
- Guide program teams through development stages while ensuring transparent, cross-functional communication of program progress
- Monitor scheduling or resourcing issues and opportunities and recommend activities prioritization
- Develop risk management plans and regularly evaluate and communicate the probability and impact of risks to program deliverables
- Support portfolio prioritization, program budget development, tracking, and variance management
- As necessary, challenge teams and encourage innovative problem-solving
- Outstanding leadership and management skills with an integrated view of scientific, clinical, and product development issues
- Ability to lead successfully in a matrix environment, prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, integrate cross-functional issues and balance competing priorities effectively.
- B.S. degree or higher in life sciences or related discipline
- 8+ years in a lead PM role for a drug development projects in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry
- Solid understanding of all aspects of drug development and commercialization
- Late-stage development and filing experience is highly desirable
- Proficient in project management principles and tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, and other project visualization software. PMP certification is a plus
- End-to-end experience in managing organizational initiatives
- Self-motivated and highly flexible individual who is able to manage multiple tasks and priorities within a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority
- Strong understanding of technology and tools for collaboration and work efficiency
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Independent, motivated team member with experience in a matrix environment
- Demonstrated exposure to clinical development, IND/CTA preparation, and/or GMP biologics manufacturing
- Direct experience in rare disease therapy areas is a plus
- Strong organizational skills, resourceful, mature, a self-starter. Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and relationship management skills. Proven ability to prioritize, plan ahead, and manage a high volume of work to meet deadlines and ensure that the operation runs in an efficient and timely manner
