Your Role

Responsibilities

As a Waste & Purified Water Operator II, you will optimize wastewater, purified water, and tank farm operations to exceed standards, prioritize safety, and drive efficiency. Key responsibilities include:

Leadership in Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations

  • Oversee the safe and efficient operation of the wastewater pre-treatment plant, ensuring compliance with water quality standards before discharge to municipal systems.
  • Go beyond compliance by proactively improving treatment processes to surpass permit standards and drive sustainability through detailed analysis and testing.
  • Mentor junior operators, promoting a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement while maintaining thorough documentation for regulatory compliance.

Advance Operations of Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Purification Systems

  • Manage and maintain the operation of the Reverse Osmosis (RO) system to deliver consistent high-quality water production and optimal system efficiency.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and implement system upgrades, drive innovative solutions to address complex issues and enhance performance.
  • Oversee sanitization procedures, maintain compliance with industry standards, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to evaluate and recommend system improvements.

Strategic Oversight of Mechanical Systems & Preventative Maintenance

  • Provide expert mechanical support for wastewater and RO system equipment, manage troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance (PM) to ensure system reliability.
  • Develop and maintain advanced PM programs to guarantee long-term equipment performance and adherence to OEM specifications.
  • Serve as a liaison between operations, Quality, EHS, and Engineering teams, offer insights during incident investigations and drive the implementation of corrective actions.

Tank Farm Operations & Hazardous Material Oversight

  • Oversee tank farm bulk unloading operations, ensuring the safe handling of hazardous materials and strict adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and enforce waste disposal procedures, optimizing methods to reduce environmental impact and operational costs.
  • Provide expert incident response for tank farm operations and hazardous material handling, while training junior staff on safety best practices.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Education: High School required. Associate degree or higher in a related engineering or science field preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years' experience working in Waste & Purified Water in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • TCEQ Wastewater Operator License and Purified Water Certificate/License required
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills and knowledge of preventative maintenance for water treatment systems
  • Experience in cosmetic, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing with FDA/GMP knowledge
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and implement technical work instructions, manuals, and regulatory documents
  • Strong communicator with the ability to clearly explain technical issues to all cross functional parties.
  • Ability to handle and move equipment and machinery weighing up to 60 lbs. and perform intricate repairs requiring fine manual dexterity.
  • Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis & Continuous Improvement (use of methodologies like Six Sigma, PDCA, or 5-Why for process optimization).

Work Schedule

  • Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
