The Institute hosts more than 200 events each year, with our annual flagship event, Global Conference, bringing together 4,500+ participants from around the world, featuring more than 900+ speakers throughout 200+ sessions over the course of the event.

About The Positions

The Milken Institute (MI) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recruiter to join our Human Resources team and play a crucial role in attracting, sourcing, and hiring top talent. As a Recruiter, you will be responsible for managing the full recruitment lifecycle, from identifying and attracting candidates to conducting interviews, making offers, and ensuring a positive candidate experience.

This role will be instrumental in developing and executing global strategies that enhance the recruitment, retention, professional development and overall experience of our employees. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the recruitment process, plus a passion for connecting the right candidate to the perfect position and a proven track record in retention and employee engagement.

Responsibilities

Sourcing and Attracting Talent

  • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies, utilizing various channels (e.g., job boards, social media, networking events, referrals) to identify and attract qualified candidates.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand their needs and requirements for open positions.
  • Create compelling job postings and descriptions that accurately reflect the role and company culture.
  • Align MI pipelines globally and develop hiring strategies and objectives.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of potential candidates, by fostering relationships with organizations, and educational institutions to enhance recruitment and support efforts including identifying and participating in strategic partnerships that can provide additional resources and opportunities.

Candidate Screening and Evaluation

  • Review resumes and applications, conduct initial phone screenings, and assess candidate qualifications.
  • Conduct interviews, using structured interview methods, to evaluate candidates' skills, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Provide constructive feedback to both hiring managers and candidates throughout the recruitment process.

Offer and Onboarding

  • Negotiate compensation and benefits packages with successful candidates.
  • Manage the offer process, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for new hires.
  • Coordinate check-ins with new hires and department to ensure new hires are well-integrated into the company.

Recruitment Process Management

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from job posting to onboarding, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Utilize Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to manage the candidate pipeline and track recruitment metrics.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in recruitment.

Other Duties

  • Represent the organization at events, job fairs, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and organized candidate data in applicant tracking systems
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies
  • Monitor and analyze metrics related to hiring, retention, and engagement to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives; utilize data analytics tools to track progress against established KPIs and identify trends that inform future strategies.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership on the status and impact of initiatives, providing actionable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Duties as assigned.

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • 8-12 years of experience in recruiting or human resources.
  • Proven experience in sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in ATS, knowledge of ADP – Workforce Now preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong understanding of recruitment processes and candidate selection methods.
  • Ability to manage a wide range of relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

Desired Skills And Qualifications

  • Experience with all levels of hires, including C-Suite.
  • Experience with social media recruiting and networking.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Working Conditions & Travel Requirements

This position will work in a professional office environment on a hybrid schedule consisting of three (3) days per week reporting in-person to the Santa Monica office location (Tuesday – Thursday), with the remaining two (2) days working remotely. Please understand that this schedule is subject to change at the Institute’s sole discretion.

This person will also be required to travel occasionally to other offices and/or venues to assist with events as needed, requiring occasional work outside of traditional hours. International along with domestic travel is possible. Additionally, this position requires interacting virtually on a regular basis with Milken Institute staff based in other locations in the United States and around the world.
