Position: Data Solutions Specialist

SUMMARY: Support the development and implementation of data solutions that drive informed decision-making across the district. Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data systems while ensuring data integrity and accessibility.

Ability to provide general district information and respond to questions from administrators, managers, employees, customers, and/or the general public in a professional and pleasant manner.
Problem Solving Skills
Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns.
Productivity/Efficiency Skills
Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary; organize job functions and work area to be able to effectively complete varied assignments within established time frame.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute hourly, daily, and contractual rates.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form.
Other Skills And Abilities
Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets (Excel), database (Access) required; presentation software preferred; alpha and chronological order for personnel file maintenance.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and implement scalable data solutions to support district-wide initiatives
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for data systems, processes, and architecture
- Collaborate with the Data Architect to design, optimize, and deploy efficient data models
- Participate in solution design meetings, contributing technical expertise and innovative problem solving
- Utilize SQL, Python, or R to analyze, process, and manipulate data
- Develop reports and dashboards using Power BI and the Microsoft Power Platform
- Ensure data integrity, security, and efficient use of relational databases
- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies to improve data-driven decision making
- Contribute to fostering a data-literate culture within the organization, empowering colleagues with data insights and analytics tools
- Assume responsibility for his or her continuing professional growth and development by such efforts as attendance at training or in-services
- Seek assistance should emergencies arise
- Represent the school district in a positive manner
- Know and follow school district policy and chain of command
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification Requirements

Education And/Or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related analytical field preferred
- Experience working in education, government, or public sector organizations preferred
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to tackle complex issues and present clear, actionable solutions
- Significant knowledge of data architecture principles, data integration, ETL processes, and API integrations
- Familiarity with data governance and privacy laws relevant to the educational sector
- Experience in data analysis, reporting, solution development, and cloud-based data solutions infrastructure
- Ability to manage multi-faceted projects by setting and reaching attainable timelines and milestones
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python or R)
- Familiarity with Power BI and the Microsoft Power Platform
- Understanding of relational database design and management
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Articulate and communicate effectively with persons within and outside the Nampa School District
- Professional and confidential when dealing with school staff and the public.
