The Director is a key member of the Global Media Relations team, serving as an internal liaison to research and development (R&D) and key Global Business Unit (GBU) contacts in order to facilitate robust external communication about the pipeline, priority assets and science.

Main Responsibilities
- The Director provides strategic counsel to GBUs regarding external communication about business priorities, pipeline developments and R&D. Additionally, s/he proactively works to find opportunities to enhance corporate reputation and advance business priorities with the coordination of company news and corporate announcements.
- S/He identifies opportunities to effectively communicate key company milestones, including Products, Pipeline, M&A and Business Development news, while developing press releases, presentation decks, standby statements, and Q&As for external audiences.
- S/He partners with the Head, Science, R&D, Products and US Media Relations and the Head of Global Media Relations to identify opportunities for executive spokespeople to participate in external events which could include conferences, webinars, panels, and partner programs.
- The Director inputs on and implements strategic communications plans and executes media tactics, partnering closely with the appropriate teams within R&D and GBUs.
- The Director works in collaboration with the Head of Global Media Relations and the Head, Science, R&D, Products and US Media Relations, to engage with top-tier and trade media and triage issues management as needed.
- Education: Generalist higher education (IEP, ESC, Celsa) or specialized communications / journalism (IFP, EFAP).
- US: bachelor's degree required, master’s or higher degree beneficial.
- Years of experience: minimum 7+ years, in a communication agency, PR agency, or "in-house" corporate communication
- Languages: English proficiency mandatory.
- Additional languages beneficial.
- Expertise in media relations is mandatory as are excellent writing and editing skills.
- Experience working with global and US media (and the ability to understand their function, issues, needs, methods, expectations, etc.)
- The ideal candidate must be endlessly curious, seeking to understanding complex science and innovation.
- Ability to work independently and to deal with complex issues in an environment that requires resilience, responsiveness and flexibility.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- Experience communicating with C-Suite and other executives.
- Software: Fluency in Microsoft applications.
